Allah says in Surah Maidah:

“This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favors upon you and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [Surah Al-Ma’idah verse: 4]

This verse proves that the Holy book ‘Quran’ is the consolidation of Allah’s favors which have been fulfilled Islam for the welfare of human beings. Quran is the complete guidance without any lacking. Any obstacle related to life whether personal or social have a solution provided by Allah in Quran.

 Love your Parents

Always remember the love which they shower on you, when you are nothing but a helpless, innocent child. Allah says:

“And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: ‘My Lord! Bestow on them your Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood.”

(17:24)

The phrase of this verse “lower to them the wing of humility” shows the infinite love of parents towards their children, just like a bird who spreads its wings for the protection of their young ones. Hence, similarly with parents, it is our responsibility to serve them in the same way when they get older and helpless. This verse also presents a powerful and beautiful prayer that

“God bestow mercy on my parents as they cherished me when I was a child.”

These above mentioned verse shows the importance of parents which Islam has given to them. A God advice to mankind always respect and shows kindness towards parents, never misbehave or disrespect them with your words or attitude.

 Take Care of your Parents with Respect

It is the most significant command of God to give respect to your parents. Allah says in Qur’an:

“Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor.”

(17:23)

The first thing which is mentioned in this verse is the oneness of God and His worship, in the other part it is stated that never disrespect or misbehave with your parents. God advices to believers never talk to your parents contemptuously. Islam does not allow us to use a single word “uff” in front of parents because it may show contempt. Furthermore, it is guided to treat parents with deference and honour.

Always be Kind to your Parents

People are ordered by Allah to not only obey them but even in Islam it is not allowed to treat them with animosity, infect God says to behave with them kindly.

In Qur’an it is mentioned that:

“But if they strive to make you join in worship with Me things of which you have no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration).”

(31:15)

 What Islam says about Parenthood

Parents are one of the blessings of God, they teach and help us more than any other person in our life, they are always ready to support us during our thick and thins, and they feel happiness and proud in our achievements. At any stage of life, parents never leave their child alone or helpless. Mothers have been carrying their child for nine months before birth and then both parents take care of their child They support financially and emotionally to their children, and provide education also fulfil all wishes till their children reach at the age of eighteen.

Despite, many children do not treat and value their parents in the way they get in their childhood. Arguing restlessly, ignoring due to other life activities, misbehaving, are the common actions which most of the children of this era do with parents. When we are young, we are so busy in starting our new families, thus in all of this we do not have time to see that our parents are also getting old and it is the time where they need our support, love, and care. It is not only unfair to parents but also consider as an evil act because our religion “Islam” has not permitted us to do such sinful deeds.

 What Allah says about Quran in the Quran?

Allah has said so many times in the book itself that Quran is the book of guidance. For example Allah says in Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 2:

“This is the Book about which there is no doubt, guidance for those conscious of Allah” [2:2]

At another place Allah has said in Surah Yunus, verse 37:

“And it was not [possible] for this Qur'an to be produced by other than Allah, but [it is] a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of the [former] Scripture, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds” [10:37].

Allah has also warned people that if people would not follow the Quranic teaching then they themselves would be responsible for the loss. Allah says in Surah Az-Zumar, verse 41:

“Indeed, We sent down to you the Book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided - it is for [the benefit of] his soul; and whoever goes astray only goes astray to its detriment. And you are not a manager over them”. [39:41]

Thus, all of the above verses say that Quran is indeed one most important and complete piece of guidance. We should take help from Quran in our daily walk of lives so that there would be no chance of committing any wrong deed and also there would be no more confusion.

 Principles and Importance of Quran

Revelation of Quran

The word Quran means recitation and its verses are recited by Muslims throughout the world. The Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad in Ramadan, the holy month of the Islamic calendar, in the year 610CE. The Quran is Muslims' holy book, which is revealed to Prophet Muhammad in different steps over 23 years. Muslims find Quranic insights as the divine word of God, meant to correct any mistakes in past holy books, including the Old and New Testaments.

What does Quran means?

The Quran is Allah's text, which is penned in Arabic. In Arabic the expression "Quran" refers recitation. All Muslim people, regardless of the country language must recite the Quran in Arabic.

How many chapters and verses Quran consists?

The Quran comprises of one hundred and fourteen chapters consisting six thousand verses, mainly disclosed to Muhammad over a twenty-two year period. Such chapters, called surahs, are organized according to their length, ranging from longest to about twenty-two pages of Arabic text of chapter 2, to the shortest one line surah.

Reciting Quran in prayers

Muslims have several various forms of rituals of prayer, which they perform daily. Prayer is of great importance to them in their lifestyle and they use the Quran for many of their prayers. Five times a day, they do prayer rituals called Salah. At dawn, at midday, at afternoon, at sunset and at evening, they pray. These five prayers, in the order of which they are performed, are called salat al-subh, salat al-zuhr, salat al-asr, salat al-maghrib, and salat al-isha. Muslims also follow the Quran as a guide to do their worship services.
