Do not ever try to escape from disease

What is pandemic? How pandemic of infectious diseases does occur? Why travelling is forbidden when chances of pandemic is high? If someone can truly understand the answers of above questioned then he/she will never try to escape from disease.

Pandemic means the presence of disease in different geographical locations of entire world. Travelling is the only cause of pandemic because disease can emerge from a single point, if those people from that infected area do not move then how pandemic occurs. Immune system of every individual is different from one another and appearance of symptoms of disease depends on our immune system. If someone has a weaker immune system it can show symptoms rapidly as compared to the stronger ones. For example, if a small area is infected with contagious disease some people show sufferings while others not, is it right to start travel? What has happened then if those people are carriers too, they not show illness but able to transfer the infectious agent to others. That is why travelling is not allowed in such conditions because it can harm the rest of the world.

It is clearly mentioned in Hadith that do not enter in an area which is infected and if you are present in an area which is already infected with an infectious disease (plague) do not go out of it because you may become the reason of pandemic:

“If you hear that there is a plague in a land do not enter it; and if it (plague) visits a land while you are therein, do not go out of it.” [Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim]

 Adopt the habit of cleanliness it can prevent you from diseases

Islam considers cleanliness as half of faith because of its importance in our life. Germs adhere themselves on our outer skin or mucous membrane. By adopting the habit of washing or bathing, our body can get rid from those adhered infectious organisms if we are not washed them out they can get entered inside body and starts infection.

In Quran it is mentioned that God loves purity so that human beings start adopting the habits of cleanliness. Allah says:

“Truly, God loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves.” [Quran 2:222]

It is mentioned in Sahih Muslim that:

“Cleanliness is half the faith (Emaan).” [Sahih Muslim]

 What Islam Says About Contagious Diseases (COVID-19)

Contagious disease is one of the types of transmissible diseases, which can be transmitted through person to person by direct physical contact or by causal contact such as infectious agent could be transfer from air borne droplets of infected person to others or through objects which are contaminated by infected hands. Mostly viral diseases are contagious in nature some of them are; Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Tuberculosis, Ebola, Flu, Measles etc. Contagious diseases are dangerous because if they start to spread it is very difficult to control and then they often result in outbreak. Islam gives clear guidelines to humanity that how to tackle with such situations through different verses and hadiths.

Avoid transmission by quarantine yourself

The basic characteristic of contagious disease is that it can easily transmit without any vector from person to person. Therefore, infected individual is the main cause behind the spread of disease because virus itself is nothing without host, if we are not providing ourselves to flourish infectious agent then one day it will eradicate completely. To stop transmission of disease is the mutual effort.

Quarantine is the only way to stop the virus from spreading because one infected person can infect or harm the whole community. That is why until or unless you are not completely cured, isolate yourself completely from social interactions. For the sake of humanity, if you separate yourself from others it is an act of kindness and intelligence.

It is previously mentioned in Hadith that:

Abu Salamah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There is no infection (without the decree of Allah). Do not mix the sick with the healthy.”

[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 4124]

 Noone! How beautiful is this world of Allah that He tells us to remember Him for He alone can help us out of the affliction. How beautiful is Allah who is telling us in the Quran to feed the heart with faith, the word of Allah so that it gets it complete nourishment and gives you joy, happiness, patience, love, hence strengthening it beyond measure? Just as a child is fed with healthy foods when he is young and that strengthens their bones, in the same way Allah is asking us to read the Quran, learn it, understand it so that it strengthens and in turn heals the heart, brings it back to its actual state, the one that was before worldly things plagued it. The Quran is, in other words, the perfect medicine, that which doesn’t have an expiry date and that which can cure the biggest of illnesses,

The Prophet Mohammad too, said about the remembrance of Allah in this regard "There is a polish for everything that removes the rust and the polish for the rust-of- heart is the dhikr (remembrance) of God." (PBUH).

So embrace the Quran as a healer of your heart and watch it make miracles in your life!

 Quran, the Healer of Hearts

Allah has made the human heart as a very important organ but its survival is a very complicated question. That is because Allah has made the heart as the centre of all feeling and emotion and it is through the heart that a person’s personality and everything else in their life is judged and comprehended. The Quran mentions the heart in numerous places in the Quran because Allah has asked His believers to turn to the Quran to give the heart its REAL nourishment.

In this world, this life, everyone goes through troubles and joy. When we are in trouble we feel that our heart has broken. But that is not true. What has happened is not that our heart has broken, rather it has not received that nourishment which it requires, which Allah made it to GET, and which we have failed to provide it; the remembrance of Allah, the recitation of the Quran, the understanding of the book of Allah. For it is the QURAN that has the power to let all problems go away, to mend hearts to heal hearts.

Allah has mentioned this phenomenon in various places in the Quran. He says "We have sent down in the Quran that which is healing and a mercy to those who believe" (Surat Al-Isra: 17:82). What more proof do we need from Allah that the Quran is one of the most important sources of fulfilling the heart?

So accept it, heal your heart with the Quran! There are a number of different healings that Quran can provide; the healing from problems, the spiritual healing and reminder of your Islamic faith and the physical healing as a medicine for illnesses. Here we talk about all those sorts of healing. Surely Allah has testified in the Quran "If God touches thee with an affliction, no one can remove it but He" (Surat Al-'An`am: 6:17).

How someone can get Guidance from Quran?

Allah tells to mankind read and understands the meaning of Quran because this book is about human guidance.

“Indeed, We have sent down for you (O mankind) a book (the Quran) in which there is Dhikrukum,(your Reminder or an honor for you i.e. honor for the one who follows the teaching of the Quran and acts on its teachings). Will you not then understand?” [Quran Surah Al-Anbiya, Verse 10]

Thus, all of the above mentioned verses of Quran are speaking the importance and purpose of Quran. Allah has sent His messengers to us so that they can people of earth, but since they are human so they cannot stay alive forever. Allah is the only entity who will not die and other than Him, all messengers were mortal as they were humans too. This is why Allah has sent down some non-living object of complete guidance to us, which can stay in this world till the end of this world. Like humans, the book has not a particular life span and this is why it has revealed to us to guide the every generation of this world. We should put a strong faith in Quran and should read it daily as we can learn so many things out of it. Hence, Quran has so much to give us and so we should respect it.

 Quran is the Source of Enormous Knowledge

“This is the Book (the Quran), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqoon (the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)”. [Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 2]

Quran is the only Book Retained in its Original Form

Quran is the book of truth; it is the only book which is still present in its original form without the change of a single word. It is present as it is as revealed on Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) even in that language ‘Arabic’ in which it has revealed. In Quran each and every word belongs to Allah, nobody is able to edit the single verse of Quran.

“Verily, We have sent down to you (O Muhammad (S)) the Book (this Quran) for mankind in truth. So whosoever accepts the guidance, it is only for his own self, and whosoever goes astray, he goes astray only for his (own) loss. And you (O Muhammad (S)) are not a Wakeel (trustee or disposer of affairs, or keeper) over them.” [Surah Al-Zumar, Verse 41]
