BE ATTACHED TO ALLAH

There’s no value to the duniya without a heart attached to Allah. A person turns to Allah when sad, praises him when happy, returns to him when he sins, and is grateful to Him in all cases.

As for the heart that’s distant from Allah, it’s not happy with a vacation, nor is it excited for travel. He doesn’t enjoy his wealth, he’s not satisfied with his job, nor does he appreciate his life.

Life is truly for the one who loves Allah.

It might be the age of technology, advancement and speed, but happiness is not measured with delights of the body, but with delights of the soul and its purity.

A person cannot be saved unless he holds on to the Rope of Allah, is mindful of Him, and attaches his heart to Him. So attach your heart to Him and you will be at ease in your life and hereafter.

 THE MIRACLES OF JESUS (ISA)

Allah the Almighty said:

“Remember when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): “O Jesus, son of Mary! Remember My Favor to you and to your mother when I supported you with Ruh-ul-Qudus (Gabriel) so that you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and when I taught you writing, Al Hikmah (the power of understanding), the Torah and the Gospel; and when you made out of the clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My Permission, and you breathed into it, and it became a bird by My Permission, and you healed those born blind, and the lepers by My Permission, and when you brought forth the dead by My Permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from you (when they resolved to kill you) since you came unto them with clear proofs, and the disbeliveers among them said: ‘This is nothing but evident magic.’” And when I (Allah) put in their hearts of the disciples (of Jesus) to believe in Me and My Messenger, they said: “We believe. And bear witness that we are Muslims.” (Ch 5:110-111 Quran).

JESUS’ (ISA) CRUCIFIXION

But the faith of Islam came with views quite different from that of the extend gospels with regards to both the end of Jesus and his nature. The Glorious Qur’an affirms that Allah the Exalted did not permit the people of Israel to kill Jesus or crucify him. What happened was that Allah saved him from his enemies and raised him to heaven. They never killed Jesus, they killed someone else.

Allah the Almighty declared:

“And because of their saying (in boast), “We killed Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah,” but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of Jesus was put over another man (and they killed that man) and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no certain knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not (Jesus, son of Mary): But Allah raised him (Jesus) up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and

he is in the heavens). And Allah is Ever All Powerful, All Wise.

And there is none of the people of the Scripture (Jews & Christians), but must believe in him (Jesus, son of Mary, as only a Messenger of Allah, and a human being0, before his (Jesus or a Jew’s or a Christian’s ) death (at the time of the appearance of the angel of death). And on the Day of Resurrection, he (Jesus) will be a witness against them. ( Ch 4:157-159 Quran)

STORY OF JESUS (ISA) IN QURAN. SOURCE: STORIES OF  THE PROPHETS BY IBN KATHIR

MARY (MARIAM) RECEIVES NEWS OF JESUS (ISA)

While Mary was praying in her temple, an angel in the form of a man appeared before her. Filled with terror, she tried to flee, praying:

“Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Beneficent (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah.” The angel said: “I am only a Messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son.” She said: “How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor am I unchaste?” He said: “So (it will be), your Lord said: “That is easy for me (Allah): And (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allah), and it is a matter (already) decreed, (by Allah).’” (Ch 19:18-21 Quran)

Muslims believe that Jesus was not crucified.  It was the plan of Jesus’ enemies to crucify him, but God saved him and raised him up to Him.  And the likeness of Jesus was put over another man.  Jesus’ enemies took this man and crucified him, thinking that he was Jesus.  God has said:

They said, “We killed the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of God.” They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but the likeness of him was put on another man (and they killed that man)…  (Quran, 4:157)

Jesus or Isa in Arabic (peace be upon him) is a great prophet. Jesus peace be upon him is mentioned in many Ayahs in the Quran. Muslims respect and revere Jesus (peace be upon him).  They consider him one of the greatest of God’s messengers to mankind.  The Quran confirms his virgin birth, and a chapter of the Quran is entitled ‘Maryam’ (Mary).  The Quran describes the birth of Jesus as follows:

(Remember) when the angels said, “O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him (God), whose name is the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, revered in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (to God).  He will speak to the people from his cradle and as a man, and he is of the righteous.” She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child when no mortal has touched me?” He said, “So (it will be).  God creates what He wills.  If He decrees a thing, He says to it only, ‘Be!’ and it is.”  (Quran, 3:45-47)

Jesus was born miraculously by the command of God, the same command that had brought Adam into being with neither a father nor a mother.  God has said:

The case of Jesus with God is like the case of Adam.  He created him from dust, and then He said to him, “Be!” and he came into being.  (Quran, 3:59)

During his prophetic mission, Jesus performed many miracles.  God tells us that Jesus said:

“I have come to you with a sign from your Lord.  I make for you the shape of a bird out of clay, I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God’s permission.  I heal the blind from birth and the leper.  And I bring the dead to life by God’s permission.  And I tell you what you eat and what you store in your houses….” (Quran, 3:49)

In all such matters the position of interest-bearing and interest-free things would be as under:

1. When commodities to be exchanged are of the same `type’ and `variety,’ any increase or decrease in them will be unlawful, as will be their sale on credit; for example, exchange of wheat with wheat and rice with rice. It is essential that these things are equal in measure and/or weight, and are in one’s actual possession.

2. If two things to be exchanged are of the same `type’ but of a different `variety,’ any increase or decrease in them is permissible. Their sale on credit is, however, unlawful. For instance, the exchange of one kilogram of silver with two grams of gold, or the barter of one kilo of barley with half a kilo of wheat, or the exchange of one Dinar with four Riyals. If such a bargain is on a cash basis it will be fair, but any credit in this case is not correct.

3. When the two things to be exchanged are not of the same `type’ and are also different in `variety,’ then any increase or decrease in them is permissible and their sale on credit is also allowed. For example, exchange of one kilogram of wheat with a gram of gold, bargain of one kilogram of dates with ten Tola (about 116 grams) of silver. Any increase or decrease in them is permissible, as is their sale on credit.

 WHY IS RIBA HARAM?

The first and foremost reason riba is haram is because Allah declared it so. It is based on Allah’s infinite wisdom that He deems an action to be obligatory or prohibited, prescribing matters in man’s best interests, in this life and in the Hereafter, as He is the All-Wise, All-Knowing. The scholars of Islam have suggested the following reasons as to why riba is haram:

Riba conflicts with the spirit of brotherhood and sympathy, and is based on greed, selfishness and hard heartedness.

Riba is one of the major contributors towards inflation.

Riba causes trauma and depression due to mounting debts.

Riba is a sure gain without any possibility of loss, hence all the risk is taken by the borrower, rather than sharing the risk and the profits with both parties.

Riba creates a monopoly in society, where the rich are rewarded for being wealthy, while those who are not are forced to pay extra!
