 LOOK AT ALLAH‘S MERCY

Allah says:

*فَاَمَّا مَنْ اُوْتِىَ كِتٰبَهُ بِيَمِيْنِهِ*

As for the one who receives his book in his Right hand.

*فَيَقُوْلُ هَاؤُمُ اقْرَءُؤْا كِتٰبِيَهْ*

He will say “Here read my record”

The Overwhelming majority of us, we have sinned and we have done a lot of bad deeds and it is written in our Book of Deeds!

As Allah says

*وَاِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحٰفِظِيْنَ*

And over you are guardians

*كِرَامَنْ كٰتِبِيْنَ*

Honoured scribes

*يَعْلَمُوْنَ مَا تَفْعَلُوْنَ*

They know all that which you do.

So how does it make sense that a person will say Here Read my Record when he has these sins?

Abdullah ibn Hanzalah رضي الله عنه said , “Verily, Allah will stop His servant on the Day of Judgement and He will make his sins appear on the outside of his Book of Records. Then He will say to him, `Did you do this’ The servant will respond, `Yes my Lord.’ Then Allah will say to him, `I will not expose you (or dishonor you) for it, for verily, I have forgiven you. ‘

The person will then say, `Here (you all) read my Book!”

 سبحان الله

Look at the Rahma and the Mughfirah of Allah ﷻ that he turns the bad into good for his slave on Qiyamah.

And the one who receives his Book in his right, Allah says about him

*فَسْوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَّسِيْرًا*

Surely, His accounting will be an easy accounting.

*وَّ يَنْقَلِبَ اِلَى اَهْلِهِ مَسْرُوْرًا*

And he will return to his people, joyfully.

Meaning His Judgement and Accounting will be done quickly and Allah will admit him into Jannah quickly.

And He will enter Jannah and meet his Family.

Opinion 1 says he will meet his family of paradise.

Opinion 2 says he will be with the family of Dunya in Paradise.

 سبحان الله

Never ever think that Allah won’t forgive you!

This here is a proof, that even on a day when there is no repentance, Allah will be forgiving people out of his Rahma.

And to think or say “Allah will not forgive me” is disrespectful to Allah!

Some of Allah’s qualities are Ghafir, Ghaffar and Ghafoor and Rahman, Raheem and Afwuh.

So why would he not forgive.

But we shouldn’t wait for Qiyamah.

Seek his Rahma now!

Ask for forgiveness!

 ALLAH’S BLESSINGS

Allah ﷻ says:

*اَلَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَّهُ عَينَين*

How we not given him two eyes?

*وَ لِسَانًا وَّ شَفَتَينٍ*

A tongue and two lips?

Contemplate over this great blessing from Allah ﷻ, of the eyes, the lips and the tongue!

Can you imagine what a struggle it would be, to go to just the masjid, a task we often take for granted evidently by our lack of attendance.

Then Imagine if we were distressed but we had no tongue to speak with, to call for assistance with!

As Allah ﷻ says

*قُتِلَ الْاِنْسَانُ مَا اَكْفَرَه*

Surely man is ungrateful!

We forget the N’ima of Allah ﷻ can be taken from us!

Imam Ibn Al Qayyim رحمه الله said “How Ungrateful is man that when he sins, he must use the blessings that Allah has given him”

Moisten your eyes and restrict them to looking at that which builds Iman and Taqwa such as the kalaam of Allah, Ahadith, Kutub Al ‘Ilm, rather than looking at and speaking of that which destroys it.

We must thank Allah through direct Shukr and worship and obedience to Allah ﷻ, while staying away from what displeases Him ﷻ.

One needs to contemplate over the heart.

Just like without oxygen the physical heart is dead, without Islam and remembrance of Allah, the spiritual heart is dead too!

Imagine, the Ni’ma of your oxygen supply cut off while you sinned in private and you died!

How disgraced would you be, that Allah ﷻ himself exposed you to everyone!

And as Allah ﷻ says regarding the spiritual heart

*يَوْمَ لاَ يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلاَ بَنُونَ*

The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail.

Meaning, a man’s wealth will not protect him from the punishment of Allah, even if he were to pay a ransom equivalent to an earthful of gold.

*إِلاَّ مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ*

Except Him who brings to Allah a sound heart.

Sa`id bin Al-Musayyib said, “The clean heart is the sound heart.”

This is the heart of the believer, for the heart of the disbeliever and the hypocrite is sick

Ibn Abi Mulaykah said that he met 30 Sahaba, and every one feared Nifaaq (Hypocrisy) for himself!

Even Umar RA enquired regarding it

Let’s thank Allah ﷻ for all His blessing.

 2- THE REPENTANT:

Allah said: “Surely Allah loves those who turn much (to Him), and He loves those who purify themselves” (2:22). Allah wanted the people who have made sins to turn from their sins and make up for them in order to be near to Allah through gaining His satisfaction, for He has promised to accept their repentance and forgive the sinner, He said: “But whoever repents after his iniquity and reforms (himself), then surely Allah will turn to him (mercifully); surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful” (5:39)

“O you who believe! turn to Allah a sincere turning; maybe your Lord will remove from you your evil and cause you to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow.” (66:8). In addition there are many other Ayahs that indicate the roominess of repentance, because they reveal that the repentant stores in his soul the fear of Allah for the sins that he had committed, asks for Allah’s mercy and likes to return back to Allah to serve Him. He is also repentant for what he has done in the past intending to change his bad past to do what makes Allah loves him. It is said that Allah loves the repentant and erases all his sins. Thus, by repentance, man is reborn like he was in the day his mother has given birth to him, “the repentant is like the one who has no sins”.

3- THE PURIFIED:

Allah said: “Surely Allah loves those who turn much (to Him), and He loves those who purify themselves”. (Quran:222)

Those who purify themselves are those who purify their bodies as Allah has ordered in a way that this physical purity opens to the spiritual and moral purity for the intention of getting close to Allah, He, the Most Exalted says: “Allah would not place a burden on you, but He would purify you and would perfect His grace upon you, that you may give thanks” (5:6). In addition, Islam stressed on purifying the body, clothes and everything that is related to man’s private life in his land and home, from the unclean impurity.

On the other hand, Allah directs man to the spiritual purity through the act of giving that is represented by charity that the pious pays as “Zakat” and “Sadakat” almsgiving, and other financial obligations. Allah says: “Take alms out of their property, you would cleanse them and purify them thereby”.( 9:103) taking into consideration that the almsgiving through which the spirituality of giving is represented, purifies one’s soul from the dirtiness of stinginess and from egoism that only cares about one’s stifling needs and private interests.

WHO ARE THOSE WHOM ALLAH LOVES?

The Holy Quran talks about the people whom Allah loves in many Ayahs.

1- THE CHARITABLE

Allah said: “…and do good (to others); surely Allah loves the doers of good”. (2:195). The humanitarian pious model refers here to those who do good to Allah by observing all conditions of doing good, achieving all its concepts, and embodying all its values, as well as doing good to people by giving them their rights, helping them in attaining their individual and general needs.

Allah also talked about what the people of Qaroun said to him: “…and do good (to others) as Allah has done good to you”. (28:77), since they used to advise him to use the land treasures that Allah has bestowed on him, in doing good to himself and not to wrong himself, nor boast or become arrogant, do good to people and hold his responsibilities in helping them with his money. Allah, the Most Exalted says: “and give them of the wealth of Allah which He has given you”. (24:33) And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). (15:19)

But, those who did good to Allah and the people, Allah will give them reward by bestowing upon them His grace. He, the Most Exalted said: “Is there any Reward for Good – other than Good?” (55:60), “For those who do good is good (reward) and more (than this)” (10:26)….

THE BENEFIT OF KNOWING THIS NAME OF ALLAH AL-MUJEEB

Awareness that Allah is the Answerer of Prayers is a comfort and source of strength for those who are cut off from all other hope or recourse, with only Allah to turn to. At this time, they turn to Allah with the sincerest and most devoted heart, so Allah quickly relieves their burdens and removes their afflictions.

The prophet SAW said that Allah SWT says, “By my might and majesty, I will grant you victory, though it be after a time.” Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Sunan Ibn Majah

Allah, in His wisdom, knows what is best. He has made our supplications one of the influences that affects our lives, and He has promised to answer our prayers. This means that sometimes He answers us with precisely what we ask for. At other times, He might prevent a calamity from befalling us that we would otherwise have been destined to suffer from.

Also, He might postpone granting us the answer to that prayer until the Day of Resurrection, and reward us with the blessings of it on that day in terms of our judgment and reward in the Hereafter, through having it weigh in our favor on that day when our deeds are weighed. This is guaranteed for all who beseech Allah with sincerity and devotion. As for the answer to our prayers coming in this world with precisely what we ask for, this is usually the case.

When we read about the lives of the prophets, we witness many cases where Allah answered their prayers. Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon him, beseeched God on behalf of a number of his Companions.

He beseeched Allah about Ibn Abbas asking: “O Allah! Make him deeply knowledgeable about the religion.” He prayed that Anas ibn Malik would have a long life and many children. He prayed that Umar ibn al-Khattab would embrace Islam and add his strength to the Muslim community. He beseeched God on behalf of many of the tribes he interacted with, and He beseeched Allah for all of the Muslims throughout the ages.

We find many accounts, past and present, of how Allah answered people’s prayers. Wherever people believe in Allah, even if they might be sinful in their deeds and misguided in their religious understanding, we find them speaking about how Allah answered their prayers and removed their woes.

This is something that cannot be denied, a further proof attesting to Allah’s existence and His mercy. This is the reason why we scarcely find anyone, when faced with a great calamity or woe, who refrains from turning to Allah to relieve his or her distress.

Likewise, Allah answered the prayers of Abraham, Zechariah, John the Baptist, Jesus, and indeed every one of His Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them all). They beseeched their Lord with utmost humility and sincerity, so He, in His infinite grace, safeguarded them, guided them, honored them, and accepted their appeals.

Allah is the one who answers the prayers of those who beseech Him and place their hopes in Him. God alone is the one to whom all prayers and supplications are to be made.

“And your Lord says: “Call on Me; I will answer your (prayer): but those who are too arrogant to serve Me will surely find themselves in Hell – in humiliation!”” (Quran 40:60)

Allah has enjoined supplication upon us and He has promised to answer our prayers. This is why `Umar used to say: “I do not worry that my supplications will be answered. I worry about my supplications themselves.”

In other words, when a person is blessed to beseech the Lord, this itself is the benefit. As for the answer, that is something which has already been granted.

Allah is the one who removes our distresses. He reminds us: “It is God who delivers you from these and from every distress, but again you set up others (with Him).” (Quran 6:64)

Our supplications to Allah are a means to dispel calamities and hardships, and to draw blessings and opportunities to us. However, supplications are not the only cause for these desired effects. There are other causes that need to be acknowledged as well, including natural cause-and-effect relationships.
